Join us for Part I of a Three Part Series on Pranayama (Reawakening the Wisdom of the Breath). Pranayama is a pathway to transform the mind, emotions, body and spirit through the vehicle of the breath.

Breathing

Through Part I of this workshop, we will explore the possibility of allowing the wisdom of the breath (Pranayama) to penetrate and open more subtle layers of our being.

We will begin the journey through the most important pranayama practice, the Essential Breath, breathing without control of the breath cycle. Perceiving the essential breath and becoming conscious of its natural state is very different than controlling or manipulating the breath through quick techniques and exercise. As the essential breath is expressed and integrated, it can become the cornerstone for not only the yoga practice, but life activities.

After the foundation of essential breathing, we will move onward to other practices of Pranayama that address specific results through rhythms and patterns of breathing.

Each workshop will delve deeper through these beautiful teachings, learning ways to observe our patterns, and how to use the practice of Pranayama to shift our habits, patterns, emotions, and thoughts.

This workshop is a combination of lecture and practice in order to fully assimilate the information being presented. Handouts for home practice will be given to each student

The practice will end with deep relaxation, meditation and chant.
