This program meets the requirements of the Yoga Alliance organization for the 500 Hour curriculum for Yoga Teacher Training certification when combined with a 200 Hour Teaching Certification.
This program is for students that have completed the 200 Hour Teacher Mentoring Program and/or equivalent (a written questionnaire, demonstration of personal practice and teaching skills are required for admission), have a consistent and established practice, and wish to deepen teaching expertise. This program is highly individualized with a small group of students participating to allow for individual attention and mentoring.
The one year 300 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Mentoring Program (500 Hour Certificate) will provide an in-depth study of the principles of teaching yoga. The Teacher Mentoring Program provides a solid foundation that gives our graduates the knowledge, skills, and confidence to teach yoga safely, mindfully, and from the heart, connecting to the teacher within. We offer tools that allow the student to realize the skills within themselves that will open the doorway to being an inspiring and effective yoga teacher.
The 500 Hour Teaching Mentoring program will meet one Saturday per month with two individual meetings (or more if needed or requested) with course facilitators to work on philosophy, asana, technique, adjustments and teaching methodology.
Topics Covered in this course will include:
•Review of Yoga Philosophy
•Anatomy –Applied (Experiential) Anatomy within the context of teaching yoga (taught by Dr. Joe Lanzarotta)
•Subtle Body Anatomy – (Chakras, Nadis, Energy Blocks)
•Refinement of Teaching Skills
•Techniques Training/Practice—Includes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques. Guided practice, analytical training in teaching these techniques.
•Teaching Methodology—Includes principles of demonstration, safe assists and adjustments in depth
•Assist Yoga Classes at the Studio to gain practical, yet supervised experience
•Supervised Teaching of classes at the studio to refine teaching skills and gain expertise
Daily Schedule 9:30AM – 11:00AM – TRYI Yoga Class
1:00PM – 5:00PM – Afternoon Session
(300 total hours consists of monthly sessions, mentoring, supervision, teaching, classes and additional reading)
