Teacher: Master Paulie Zink

Join us for yet another incredible workshop with Master Paulie Zink (Paul Grilley's Teacher) to study the specialized teachings of the Taoist Art of Yoga. Experience the dynamic flow of yang or active practice and the deep stillness of yin bringing harmony and balance to your practice and daily life. Visit Master Paulie's website for more information on Taoist Yoga http://www.pauliezink.com/Home_Page.html /

paulie Paulie conveys a profound and refreshing simplicity that comes from experiential understanding. With his relaxed demeanor, all of our students have found him to be a very approachable, enjoyable, and wonderful teacher. Master Paulie Zink continues to evolve his art of Yin and Yang Yoga by adding postures, variations, and insights. Through many years of study, practice and teaching he has further developed this ancient Taoist tradition into his own distinctive and dynamic style that is truly his own. This workshop is not to be missed!

Weekend Workshop With Master Paulie Zink

This workshop is for students and teachers of all levels. This workshop will be largely experiential with some short lectures. Students will engage in Yin Yoga postures of stillness for promoting growth, clearing energetic blockages, and enhancing circulation, Yang Yoga postures for developing core strength and muscle tone, balance, and stamina, and Taoist Flow Yoga. It is more than just a sequence of postures. In Taoist Flow the process of transition from pose to pose is as much a part of the practice as the postures themselves. Taoist movement incorporates continuous, smooth and circular motion designed to develop fluidity and grace in the body and a relaxed confident demeanor. pauliezink1

The Art of Yin and Yang Yoga

Developed from the healing practices and spiritual philosophies of ancient China, this art is based on the Taoist principles of living in oneness with nature. We will experience how to cultivate vital life force and direct it through the body, balance our yin and yang energies, liberate ourselves from limiting perceptions, feel with the intuitive heart and express the artist within. Mostly asanas, energy awareness exercises

Saturday Afternoon, September 12, 2009, 1 Hour
Medical Chi Kung

These exercises involve very simple and gentle movements and breathing techniques that are designed to increase vitality and to restore harmony in the natural rhythms and functions of the body and its energetic field. Chi Kung has been utilized in China for centuries as a preventative to debility and premature aging, and to promote healing, relieve stress, and strengthen immunity. Chi Kung is taught to Chinese medicine doctors as part of their traditional training. Some practitioners use their own chi to treat patients. And Chi Kung exercises are prescribed for a variety of medical conditions. Chi Kung can be helpful for those with serious illness or physical impediment who may not be able to participate readily in other forms of exercise. These techniques are also a healthy way to revitalize from the effects of stress or fatigue. The methods of Chi Kung are quick and easy to do. They are especially useful for people in the care-giving professions.

Taoist Yoga Teacher Training

We explore specific yoga postures to endow the body with the energetic qualities of the five transforming alchemical elements of earth, metal, water, wood, and fire. By integrating the power and healing aspects of these properties we stabilize emotions, harmonize the internal organs, and resonate with the true nature of our being. Mostly asanas, energy awareness exercises. The last hour of the workshop will include Medical Chi Kung with Paulie.

Including both Yin and Yang yoga, Taoist movement is much more than a sequence of postures. It incorporates a continuous synergistic economy of motion designed to quicken our primal spirit, and to promote relaxed confidence, fluidity, and grace in the body.
