Kathy has consulted on integrative medicine for cardiology and cancer at Providence Hospitals in California. Kathy recovered from a serious chronic illness. During her treatment, she had a physician who suggested that she exercise to alleviate stress. Kathy began and soon she was feeling so much better, not only physically, but emotionally, that she wanted to learn more about exercise and stress. That led her to the University of Pittsburgh where she learned that the exercise was truly the best medicine and that stress could undo our best efforts.
Her dream was to apply her education and experience to help others improve their health. Kathy realized that dream that eventually led her to Three Rivers Yoga Institute and yoga. She recognized yoga for the comprehensive health system that is extremely well-suited for people with chronic illness. After 10 years of practice and 2 years of teacher training at Three Rivers, Kathy began to teach yoga to her cardiovascular and lupus patients at UPMC Cardiovascular Institute. But still, she wished to expand her practice, and so “HeartChange” was born.
Kathy combines her solid scientific foundation and clinical experience in western medicine with her eastern practices of yoga and reiki. Kathy is passionate about assisting people in living the life they want, providing better health, and peace of mind.
